Arctic Edge: Where Adventure Meets Courage

Surprise, surprise ... I'm the missions teacher for this week's Vacation Bible School. Who woulda thunk it?!

You know anyone who needs a scarf?

Those Polar Bears are uber cute.

The boys near the other pole need (although may not want an "assult on their manliness") a scarves.

Ok, I have to say it:

I'm besot by your puffin.

By the way, how is it you came to spend your whole summer at camps? Put another way, what is it you do the rest of the year?

Craig! - Ha! you discovered my new advertisment. Everyone ... supportMIKE!!!

As for the summer camps question: only three. Summer missionaries who work for local churches are required to do whatever they ask ... sort of like being slaves ... but nicer ... you get lots of hugs but no pay. So obviously I'm not in ministry for the money.

So this is the last one and then it's back to the 'Ville for me! ... sigh ... my room! my friends! oh my ... then it's off again on yet another adventure to a place I vowed I would never return ... *skin crawling* ... but i must brave my fears and dread and step into this land of horror to rescue my friend charis in the act of a private girls Bible/prayer retreat. The things I do for the people I love!

As for the rest of the year? I will return to my duties as a Lady in Waiting ... waiting to finish Seminary ... waiting for someone to visit me ... waiting to visit Oz ... waiting.

Twenty-nine three and four year olds in my tropical island-themed VBS today. Now if you'll excuse me, it's time for my chocolate chip-valium milkshake.

Not really. Some of his friends call him "morkal' (as in micheal with heavy kath and kim accent).

I always used to call him Michael, but the Mike regime came in a few years ago.

but then again you Aussies are always trying to shorten names.

I refuse to become a Chrissy ... DO YOU HEAR ME! My flatmate's name is Chrissy ... I can't think of her name ... much less saying it ... without flipping my hair ...

not that she does that.
