If I had to choose an older woman to live with for a summer, it would be Fern. For a woman in her 70s, she’s spunky, active, and well-travelled (flew to Thailand last year for missions work) … did I mention spunky? … and has fruit trees galore.

Fern's daughter has Llamas!
Is there one called Tina?
Those pictures of Washington State are beautiful! Wow!
I'm not exactly sure what you are doing there yet, but I'm not going to ask because I gather that will unfold as you enigmatically tell us what happens each day. ;)
It's mostly because the Pacific Northwest is a far from arid region. Vancouver Island, British Columbia, received enough rain each year to qualify as a rain forest.
yeah...the rain...
although the rain is not the most convenient, it does help make the place gorgeous. have you been to Vancouver, BC, Christine? you should really come visit if you've got time, since you're all the way up here already.
I've ALWAYS wanted to visit Vancouver ... so what does it take to cross the border these days ... ID? Birth Certificate? Passport?
in the old days a driver's liscence would get us through the border. but since 9/11 they've been requiring a passport.
oh well ... maybe i can just go up to Bellingham and look at Canada
I think we can still cross the bridge from Buffalo with just a driver's license, but I haven't tried it yet this year. There isn't much to see in Fort Erie, but Niagara Falls isn't too far...
